Lien Laws in Idaho:  Contractors face challenges in trying to master mechanic's lien issues. Although a mechanic's lien is an efficient way to help contractors recoup losses, it is critical that they understand aspects of a mechanic's lien and the timing procedures for filing the lien.

Additionally, state and local public construction contracts provide similar protections and requirements. This workshop covers the steps that are required to assert a claim against a Miller Act payment bond, and speaks to what is recoverable under the Act.

Geoffrey J. McConnell, a partner with the law firm Meuleman Mollerup LLP, has 26 years of legal experience in construction litigation representing general contractors, specialty contractors, owners and subcontractors in state and federal courts in Idaho and California, and before federal boards of contract appeals.

Richard L. Stacey is a partner with the law firm Meuleman Mollerup LLP, focusing his practice in the litigation of complex business disputes, with an emphasis in representing parties involved in commercial construction projects.

Associated Builders and Contractors is a national construction association representing more than 22,000 construction and construction-related firms in more than 72 chapters across the United States.
