bio-richard-l-staceyThe Miller Act protects subcontractors and certain materialmen by requiring the general contractor to provide a payment bond on most construction contracts with the federal government. Additionally, state and local public construction contracts provide similar protections and requirements. This workshop covers the steps that are required to assert a claim against a Miller Act payment bond, and speaks to what is recoverable under the Act.

Wagner, will be the featured presenter at the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) meeting on March 20, 2013.  Mr. Wagner will discuss construction lien information as outlined in the Meuleman Mollerup handbook, “Construction Lien Requirements Summary for the Western United States and North Dakota.”

The Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) is the only nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the educational and professional needs of today’s construction financial manager (CFM). Established in 1981, CFMA's General Members represent all types of contractors—including general contractors and specialty trades—as well as developers, construction managers, architects, engineers, principals, and material and equipment suppliers.
